Supersport 600 VM I Misano
This weekend Cresto Guide Racing Team was in San Marino (Italy) for the
eigth round of the Supersport World Championship. It was a new circuit
for Alexander Lundh because the drivning direction has been changed at
Misano since a couple of years. This weekend there were also a lot of
Italian wildcards and a total of 25 riders in the Supersport.
Alexander drove very good and it was all looking fine, but unfortunately
we experienced a lot of technical mishaps this weekend.
Alexander crashed on saturdays free practice when his brakes disapeared
when he needed them as most, at full speed on the sixth gear. The team
had to work really hard and managed to repair the bike for the
qualification. Alexander really went all in for it but he said that
something wasn´t right. After the qualification we discovered that the
rear end of the bike was 8 milimeters to low. A springs linkage was
damaged from the crash in the practice. In practics this means that the
bike wasn´t as easy to turn over at the curves. Despite that Alex drove
his best times during the weekend and qualified in the 16:th place.

During the sundays warm up our technical mishaps continued when the
clutch broke down on our first bike.
Alex had to start with his reserve bike. But already on the first lap
the clutch started to skid and after a couple of laps he had to park his
bike. Eugeny Laverty won the race in front of Joan Lascorz and Kenan
Sofuoglu. Laverty is now a new championshipleader.
- After a good beginning to the weekend with the 13:th best time on the
fridays qualification I felt that it could be a very good weekend for
us. Despite that I had never driven on Misano after they changed the
direction I´t all felt very good. I crashed after two laps on the
saturdays qualification and then our problems started. I just want to
put this raceweekend behind me and look forward to the race at Brno, a
track that I have driven before and that I like a lot, says Alexander
Lundh.
Disapointet the team now leaves Italy and look forward to the next race
9-11 july in Czech at Brno.
