Pauli Pekkanen 3rd in British Supersport 600 at Brands Hatch.

Race report, Brands Hatch 8.4.

Weather conditions for Sunday’s race were difficult and they were changing unexpectedly. Pauli Pekkanen and Luke Jones crashed in the qualifying day before and that made the morning intense and exciting.

Luke started the race 11th and Pauli 13th. Pauli’s start was excellent and he was racing 5th when he came into the first corner. Luke was 8th in that point. As the race went on, they were both reaching the group of first 3 riders. On the half end of the race, Luke was pacing up and took the lead. Pauli was 1 second away from second position. It started to look like 777 RR would be getting two podiums from the race, for Pauli and Luke were scoring the fastest laps. Couple of laps before the finish line, Luke crashed and the race was stopped. There was oil on the track from another bike and Luke slipped because of that.

Pauli did great job on the bike finishing 3rd. He had a good chance to fight for the race win as it started to rain on the last half of the race and Pauli had rain tires on. Unfortunately, red flag came up and stopped the fun.
